Common Questions on Air Dryers, Sizing, Freight Delivery, and Orders

Important Notice: Need immediate technical advice regarding CFM sizing or installation? Email our engineering team at support@teessideairsupplyltd.com.

1. Equipment & Technical Guidance

What is the difference between a refrigerated air dryer and a desiccant air dryer?

Refrigerated air dryers cool compressed air down to approximately +3°C (37°F), causing moisture vapour to condense into liquid water which is separated and expelled through an automatic drain. They are the industry standard for general manufacturing, automotive, and workshop applications (ISO 8573-1 Class 4). Desiccant air dryers use chemical adsorption to reach dew points of -40°C to -70°C for extreme sub-zero applications, pharmaceutical, and electronics manufacturing.

How do I correctly size an air dryer for my air compressor?

As a rule of thumb, select a dryer whose rated capacity equals or exceeds your compressor’s total output in CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) or m³/min. In high ambient temperatures or where the compressor discharges particularly hot air (above 35°C), a correction factor must be applied. Our technical support team can calculate exact sizing for your duty cycle.

What electrical power supply do your dryers require?

Small to mid-capacity dryers typically operate on standard UK single-phase 230V 50Hz electricity. Larger industrial units (generally above 100+ CFM) require three-phase 400V 50Hz power. Exact electrical requirements are listed in the specifications of each product page.

2. Delivery & Logistics

How will my equipment be delivered?

Industrial compressed air dryers are shipped securely strapped to wooden transport pallets via commercial freight hauliers using 18-tonne or 26-tonne lorries equipped with tail-lifts. Delivery is strictly kerbside to solid, level ground (concrete or tarmac).

How quickly will my order arrive?

Orders placed before 14:00 GMT are processed within 1 to 2 working days. Mainland UK pallet transit typically takes 2 to 4 working days from dispatch. You will receive tracking details once your consignment is collected.

What should I do if the packaging arrives damaged?

Before signing the carrier’s proof of delivery note, inspect the outer packaging. If any tearing or crushing is visible, sign the document as “DAMAGED”, take photographs immediately, and contact us within 48 hours at support@teessideairsupplyltd.com.

3. Ordering, Invoicing & Returns

Can I pay by bank transfer (BACS)?

Yes. We regularly supply UK businesses via direct BACS bank transfer. Select BACS during checkout or email us to request a formal pro-forma invoice with our sort code and account details.

Do you provide VAT invoices?

Yes, all orders receive a full HMRC-compliant VAT invoice detailing the 20% UK VAT breakdown and company information upon dispatch.

What is your returns policy for business orders?

Individual consumers have a 14-day statutory cancellation right. Commercial B2B returns require prior RMA authorization and are subject to a 15–20% technical inspection and restocking fee. Please see our full Returns & Refunds Policy for comprehensive details.
